Meet Our Physicians
Urology is a specialized field of surgery. After college, training beings with 4 years of medical school followed by 1 to 2
years of general surgical training. Next, physicians complete 3 to 4 years in a urologic residency program where they train in
the management and treatment of adult and pediatric urologic diseases. Our physicians are experienced and respected individuals
in the medical community offering world-class care, and our team of physicians and staff work together to help each patient improve
their quality of life.

Mark W. Smith, MD
Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with his biology degree in 1989 and then obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1993. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia as well in 1999. After training, Dr. Smith joined Shoals Urological Associates. In his free time, he enjoys working at his off-road park in Tuscumbia, AL (Hawk Pride Mountain Offroad). He is the proud father of two, Charlie and Abbie.
Kevin M. Walls, MD
Dr. Walls is a native of Memphis, TN. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Lipscomb University and then received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2008. Dr. Walls completed his surgical internship and urology residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 2013. He lives in Muscle Shoals with his wife, Andrea, and their three children, Luke, Brady and Caroline. He enjoys hockey and computer graphics design in his spare time.
